To call Time Warner’s "proof of concept" Interactive Television demonstration in Orlando important, or even critical, is a pretty severe understatement. After all, Time Warner knew their demonstration could shape the industry for years to come. If something went wrong with the live demonstration, they needed a back-up presentation they could count on.
Time Warner trusted our development team to create a multimedia presentation that served as a back-up - just in case. In short, we created a PC-based program that could simulate the operation of an entire room full of computers and a complete interactive network. Our program was able to recreate the operation of an interactive television system, including movies on demand, shopping, sports, education programming and more. The multimedia simulation created was so impressive that Time Warner used it to introduce the system in Japan and other areas. Now, they can demonstrate the "look and feel" of the concept to advertisers and subscribers even where the technology is not yet available. |
