  STARBAK Communications, Inc.

Torrent VCG.

The Torrent VCG streams, records, and archives any H.323 videoconference over any IP network, for viewing in Windows Media Technology, RealPlayer, and Apple QuickTime. It is the next-generation platform of the Torrent CE. It is ten times more powerful, and can support up to 20 live simultaneous conferences and saturate up to 1 Giga of throughput.

Designed with the requirements of end users in mind, the Torrent VCG provides corporations, government, academic and medical organizations with a powerful, yet easy-to-use and cost-effective solution for the widescale deployment of IP communications over their existing infrastructure.

Features

H.323-compliance
The Torrent VCG is a high-performance, easy to use, H.323-compliant appliance. In addition to streaming H.323 videoconferences to industry standard players, the VCG offers the following:

Interactive Chat
The Torrent VCG provides added levels of interactivity where they did not exist. The interactive chat feature allows viewers of the videoconference to participate by communicating with the moderator and other users in the chat. They no longer require an H.323 endpoint for communication and are not limited to one-way communication.

Easy Administration
The Torrent VCG is administered from a web-based user interface in any java enabled browser from anywhere on the Internet, enabling the administrator to create moderator accounts as well as administer all live and archived videoconferences.

Videoconference Archival
Videoconferences can be recorded to the disk. Since the archived copy is stored on the Torrent VCG it can be viewed or exported any time on-demand. The VCG offers a wide selection of storage options, including multiple internal disk sizes as well as external SCSI and Fiber Channel support.

Conference Moderation
A moderator account enhances the level of usability and security. The moderator can place and receive calls as well as start and stop conference recording. Moderators can also administer live chats and slide shows. This can all be done from a simple web interface from anywhere on the Internet.

Slide Show Tool
The moderator can present slides throughout the conference, enhancing their presentation. These URL based slides can reside on the Torrent VCG or another web server, and external URLs can be referenced across the Internet.

Conference Exporting
Archived conferences can now be exported to a QuickTime .mov file and imported into any standard editing software, allowing for easy editing to meet the user’s needs. This adds tremendous value and flexibility to an enterprise videoconferencing infrastructure, as any H.323 endpoint can now become a content generation station.

Enhanced Security
The Torrent VCG is secured by means of an efficient operating system. Both live and archived videoconferencing streams can be password protected separately, allowing only authenticated viewers to access streams.

Live Call Monitoring
Using Java technology, both the Administrator and Moderator can obtain real time feedback on current call conditions such as video and audio bandwidth. Individual port statistics can be monitored and logged.

Address Book
Administrators can add commonly called endpoints and MCUs into the address book, saving time and call configurations. The Torrent VCG complies with H.323 aliasing, E.164 dialing, direct IP address dialing for each individual port on the VCG, and the new URL and email based dialing found in the latest version of H.323 - providing effective gatekeeper registration. The added feature of Hands Off Administration provides automatic stream and record recognition from incoming calls, thereby minimizing unnecessary administration.
