Any-To-Any Video Conferencing Videoconferencing is an ideal way to communicate across distances-except when you run into roadblocks caused by incompatible end points or network standards. The V-Gate 5000 is the industry's most flexible link between the worlds of ISDN (H.320), ATM (H.321), and IPP (H.323) videoconferencing standards. To bring these standards together, the V-Gate 5000 delivers full interoperability between IP, ATM, and ISDN-attached end points-extending videoconferencing from high-end room systems to low-end desktops and everything in between.
Designed For Future Scalability Because the V-Gate 5000 is scalable, you can select the exact combination of gateway capabilities you want now, and add the others later, without worrying about compatibility with the next generation of equipment. In addition, it provides ATM policing support, QoS and security features.
Integrated Gatekeeper The V-Gate 5000 includes an integrated gatekeeper to provide H.323 management and control capacity. The gatekeeper enables you to make video calls transparently between any desktop PC or room videoconferencing system over IP, ISDN and ATM networks—even when you don't know what type of system is on the other end. The gatekeeper enables registration, management, bandwidth allocation, address resolution and more in an easy to use interface.
Key Attributes
- Inter-connect Clients on IP, ATM, and ISDN Networks
Now you can seamlessly connect existing H.320 group and room-system video terminals with H.321 and H.323 videoconferencing clients. Direct ATM, ISDN, and IP/Ethernet connectivity are available.
- Multiple Concurrent Translations
A V-Gate 5000 system supports up to twelve simultaneous 384Kbps videoconference translations between H.320/H.321 and H.323 environments. Videoconference rates between H.320 and H.321 end points are supported up to 1920Kbps depending on available resources and endpoint limitations.
- Pooled Access to ISDN PRI and BRI
By using V-Gate 5000 to pool ISDN resources for all LAN-attached room system and desktop videoconferencing equipment, you can reduce the number of expensive ISDN lines needed while simplifying call management. Basic Rate ISDN (BRI), and Primary Rate ISDN (PRI), T1, and E1 are all supported.
- Optimized Call Routing
Roll-over features ensure your outgoing ISDN call will be completed even when call volume is high. When the capacity of the default gateway is fully utilized, new calls will roll over to a second gateway.
Additional Call Features
The V-Gate 5000 provides several new call features, including the following:
- ISDN PRI Incoming Busy Rollover
Rollover to another gateway with available resources when the original gateway has exceeded the remaining channels on the PRI.
- ISDN PRI Outgoing Calling Party Number (CPN)
Outgoing ISDN calls will contain the CPN of the originating ATM or IP endpoint. Allows calls to connect to endpoints whose numbers have call blocking enabled.
- ISDN PRI Route Back Support
Signal an outgoing ISDN call and receive the same call into the same PRI card after it has been routed back by the ISDN switch. Allows for testing line integrity.
- H.323 Outgoing Load Balancing
Prevents a failed gateway or failed PRI from causing an outage by rolling automatically to the next available gateway.
